BREAKING NEWS: The Ford Mustang Mach-E just smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an electric car on a single charge! On July 27, a UK-based team supported by Webfleet team, powered through 569 miles and 3,379 feet in this electric SUV, in just over 24 hours. They didn’t just beat the previous record of 563.971 miles set by Zeekr in China—they annihilated it by a mile!
But the day wasn’t just about setting new world records; it was a statement. Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker, and co-pilot Richard Parker, working closely with Ford, Webfleet, Bridgestone, and the AA, proved that the Mustang Mach-E Premium Extended Range SUV RWD Auto, with its 91 kWh battery, is an absolute beast. Averaging 6.25 miles per kWh, this car didn’t just meet the WLTP range of 373 miles—it smashed it.
“This record is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in this endeavour,” said Beverley Wise, Webfleet UKI Regional Director for Bridgestone Mobility Solutions.
“It represents a significant milestone in the electrification of road transport and demonstrates the potential of electric vehicles when supported by innovative Bridgestone tyre design and advanced fleet management technology.”
Booker added: “Breaking this record has been an exhilarating journey and a powerful demonstration of what electric vehicles can achieve.
“It is incredible to see how far we have come with EV technology and efficiency. We hope this inspires more people to consider electric vehicles for their everyday travel.”
Clarke commented: “Driving the Ford Mustang Mach-E for such a distance on a single charge was an extraordinary experience. The vehicle’s efficiency and the support from Webfleet’s technology made this possible.”
The route through urban and rural roads in Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, and Cambridgeshire was a showcase of absolute EV dominance. This world record is a game-changer, and will finally silence the critics who worry about EV range. This is the future of driving, and it’s electrifying.
PS – If you thought the support vehicle carrying the Generate Media camera crew was a petrol car… think again. It was also electric! Our Tesla Model Y camera car followed the Mach E for most of the adventure, and only stopped once for a 30-minute charge, traveling 500 miles across 22 hours on the road.
